According to my phone in the past few months I made stuff, ate stuff, did stuff and shaved stuff.

I finished up this Gemini top. The yarn is a hemp, cotton and rayon blend. No wool for me!IMG_2149Some amazing-ness that I got at Dough Bakery. I think it’s their Sunday “Southern Benedict”- open faced biscuit with eggless patty and Gutenfleischer’s meat topped with sausage gravy. IMG_1939Doughnuts from Revolution Doughnuts. They are not a 100% vegan shop, but they clearly label all the vegan doughnuts and usually about half of their doughnuts are vegan! These look like (CW from left) chocolate glaze, apple fritter, coconut and king cake.

Typical Game of Thrones meal: vegan drumsticks grilled in BBQ sauce, sautéed green beans and shrooms, and mashed taters.

The behind-the-scenes of a wannabe food photographer. This was for the Sansa lemon cakes.

Leftovers from Cafe Sunflower. Quiche on the left and soy chicken enchilada on the right (these were on the “specials” menu).IMG_2130

Vegan junk food from Food Fight Grocery when we went to PDX. Can you guess what the non-labeled item is?IMG_2185

The tropical greens smoothie from Canteen in PDX.

Nachos with Trader Joe’s soy chorizo, kidney beans, nacho teese (from my VVC swagbag) and green onions.IMG_2246

My most favorite candy bar. They’ve changed their packaging a bit and the bar looks a little different but it still is hands-down my favorite chocolate bar.IMG_2431

Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter (also from my VVC swag bag) with sliced strawberries snack time.

Banana chia oatmeal from Oh She Glows.IMG_2350

Blueberry cobbler that Neal made. I think he just veganized this recipe from Rachael Ray.IMG_2368

Another goodie from my Vida Vegan Con bag. It’s a superfood disguised as a vegan starbust candy.IMG_2210

I made the Chipotle Mac and Cheese recipe almost as soon as Isa put it up. We ate most of it in one go and only had a little leftover. To make it another meal, I topped it with sweet baked beans and some cole slaw. I love this mac and cheese.

This is the picture text I sent Neal after I posted the above pic on instagram. I realize I am an uber dork. I’m okay with that.IMG_2373

A morning of knitting wash cloths and drinkin’ a smoothie- almond milk, banana, chia seeds, Eat Pastry cookie dough and raw almonds.IMG_2441

Experimenting with a new phone app called “Over” that puts text over images. The cashew cheese spread is a recipe from an old VegNews magazine.IMG_2404

Hanging out with Neal at the art festival, Artlantis. He mostly does gig posters, but he has created an original illustration for the upcoming Atlanta Veg Fest.

Miles- looking all goofy after Neal stuffed blankets around him.IMG_1898

An afternoon walk near the Chattahoochee river. A big storm knocked some trees in the path. Miles is already very afraid of sticks so he wasn’t going anywhere near this. Neal had to carry him over. Nikko (our other greyhound) jumped over it because she’s a bad*ss like that.IMG_2333

Oh yeah, and I shaved my head using Neal’s clippers with a #3 guard (I think).  It is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now. It’s perfect for summer don’t cha think?photo

Tinned baked beans. I’ve made my own before but this was one of those times I just wanted to get the food in my mouth quickly because I was huuuungry. 🙂

Aw, thanks! I am still not sure I pull it off but that was kinda why I did it just to see and not think too hard about how I would look. Plus, it is sooo easy to “do” because there is nothing to do to it 🙂

Ha Ha! I do that all the time when I read blogs or even scrolling on pinterest. Sometimes when I am putting together pics for my blog I even get hungry. Damn food porn. 🙂

Looks like a wonderful month! Your hair looks great. It’s so funny your dog is afraid of sticks. And yay! A comment from Isa!

I know! I think I was definitely squealing inside when I got her comment! Probably the first and last time that will ever happen so I definitely made sure to enjoy the moment. 🙂

Thank you so much! Don’t feel too badly for Miles. He is a bit on the “scaredy pants” side. He is even scared of pillows. *shrugs* He is definitely a weirdo, but I love him.

Thank you! Confession time— that sweater took me a year to finish because I kept putting off finishing the sleeves and weaving in the ends. Also, I am sitting on a TON of unfinished projects. I’m definitely a “process” knitter. 🙂

You are such a badass! How come I’m not following you on Instagram yet?? I wish I have the guts to shave off my head-and pull it off beautifully. Btw, that’s an awesome hemp top!

Thanks! You should totally follow me on instagram 🙂 my username is foonsped. I really need to keep all my usernames the same as my twitter, instagram, pinterest…they are all different I think ;-P.

This was a super fun post. I liked all of the highlights!

Great job on the Gemini top! I can’t imagine being able to knit and having it come out looking like that. Color me impressed!

What is the brand on the vegan drumsticks? I’ve never seen those before. I’ve only watched a couple of episodes of GOT, but that is the perfect meal for viewing it! (Honestly, I’d rather eat the meal and skip the show. I’ve seen a couple of episodes, and it’s just too violent for my tastes. I know! Everyone else loves it… Oh, well.)

Is that a Dillos vegan Twinkie? If so, I tried a couple of flavors in Florida. Sooo good!

You look stunning with the new haircut! It really draws focus to your beautiful eyes.

Yes, it is a Dillos vegan Twinkie! So good! You should totally try knitting. You definitely have an artistic eye given your beautiful pottery…knitting is just about following the pattern directions. I taught myself basic knitting through a book and any more advanced techniques I learned from Youtube 🙂

I am not sure about the drumsticks. I know Neal picked them up at our local Asian market. They carry a lot of fake meat items in the frozen section that are clearly labeled might have been verisoy or vegeusa. I do agree that GOT can be very violent. I usually can’t watch the really icky stuff and I always have to close my eyes and ask Neal –is it over yet?

And thanks for the compliment about my hair/eyes! It was scary to shave it off but boy is it easy to maintain 🙂

Wow! I noticed how pretty you are, when I saw your pictures from Portland, but your new haircut makes it even more evident… Awe, poor Miles!

    1. luminousvegans Post author

Aww, thanks so much! I’ve never really thought of myself as pretty but since shaving my hair and having my face front and center, I actually do feel more comfortable in my own skin and oddly, prettier than with hair. *shrugs*

Miles is so funny! He totally jumped back on a walk the other day from a branch, no really it was so small I would call it a twig. He is also scared of pillows.

A love those Alter Eco bars, the quinoa ones are my fav!
So much going on in this post I don’t even know where to start! Man you’ve been having some killer eats lately, I’ve had the chipotle mac & cheese bookmarked for a while, I totally need to get on making that.
Beautiful job with the sweater, I’m always baffled by people who can make their own clothes.
You look super adorable with a shaved head, way to rock it!
